Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Associate (SRA) to join our team at our Union City, Tennessee Research Center! As an SRA you will plan and execute the safe and efficient day-to-day management of multiple crops (corn, soy, canola, cotton, and wheat product development). You will be involved in all phases of planting, growing, phenotyping, and harvesting research materials to meet pre-commercial product advancement and data quality goals.

What You Will Do:

  • Adopt and implement evolving technologies and methodologies that enhance and improve product development
  • Utilize a variety of technology, including drones, iPads, and other software tools to collect, evaluate and distribute data following detailed protocols
  • Lead assigned projects and coordinate experiments with other locations
  • Lead in site safety culture and ensure adherence to safety standards
  • Maintain or improve efficient daily workplace operations
  • Summarize experiments, manage, and analyze data
  • Organize and supervise work of other employees
  • May serve on teams appropriate to specific research project
  • Various other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree (preferred) in Agriculture or scientific field with five (5) years’ experience

What Skills You Need:

  • Previous experience in Agronomy, Biology, Plant Breeding, or similar scientific related field
  • You possess a valid US Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record, and are willing and able to obtain a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) license
  • Technologically Savvy: You are comfortable with technology and possess good computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as required. Handling of large volumes of data will be required
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with diverse groups of people
  • Supervisory Skills: Demonstrated people management experience with the ability to teach and coach employees. Ability to work under minimum supervision, efficient time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Results Driven: Demonstrated problem solving skills, strategic analysis, and communication skills. Self-motivated and ability to initiate projects, improvements, decisions, and problem solving. Detail-oriented, strong time management and organizational skills
  • Safety Oriented: Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices
  • Physical & Environmental: You are willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb and/or work in elevated areas, Stand and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting
  • Willing and able to obtain FAA Part 107 Drone license and appropriate pesticide applicator license/certification
  • You understand that delivering to our customers on-time keeps us viable and are willing and able to work overtime hours, which include nights and weekends during seasonal peaks

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Previous experience working with Drones and/or possess FAA Part 107 Drone license

  • This position does NOT offer a comprehensive domestic relocation package
