Description

The Global Parent Planning Excellence Manager will be responsible for executing cross regional parent planning, as well as partnering with our regional parent planners, to ensure parent planning processes are standardized and executed in compliance with our business rules globally. The goal of this role is to ensure execution of parent planning processes, and strategy globally through working directly with all regions to support, train, and mentor those involved. The successful candidate will also help to lead standardization and productivity projects within the parent planning space. The special crops and project responsibilities will be adjusted accordingly.

This individual will need to understand the parent business at a high level in order to successfully implement parent strategy and ensure parent seed is available in the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost to the business.

What You’ll Do:

  • Facilitate cross-regional control towers to connect the supply chain including supplying plants, receiving locations, logistics, regional planning and execution teams.
  • North America parent locations: capture demand for markets outside of North America (particularly South Africa, Latin America, Europe); develop growing plan; monitor and report progress.
  • Chile parent locations: capture demand for markets outside of North America (particularly Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific); develop growing plan; monitor and report progress.
  • Ensure other growing locations (e.g. Brazil, Europe) who are producing parent seed for cross regional markets have captured requests and incorporated them into their growing plans; monitor and report progress.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for commercial cross regional planners to ensure parent seed signals are being properly sent; and to answer inquiries about parent seed availability.
  • Partner with Regional Planners in Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia Pacific to develop parent volume and acreage plans.
    • Ensure volume planning best practices are being followed in those regions. Serve as a resource to help them navigate the process and sub-processes including systems usage.
    • Ensure that production records and associated data are timely, accurately and consistently loaded into the system (SPIN).
    • Participate in discard and inventory management reviews, ensuring that the teams are following those processes correctly and to double check that global demand is being accounted for.
    • Ensure supply chain timelines are documented in all of those regions for all generations of parent seed increases, so we have clear visibility of what supply chains are being used globally and the associated timelines for planning, planting, field activities, and harvest.
    • Develop and serve as the process owner of global standard process documentation for parent volume and production planning activities.
    • Collaborate with regions to implement, train and modify the standards as process improvements are implemented.
    • Help regional parent planners adopt planning tools, such as IBP, and serve as an interface between the systems team in Johnston and the regional parent planners to identify gaps, system enhancements, and improvements
    • Participate in regional playbook meetings
    • Develop parent macro plans for all regions
    • Interface with Research & Development team to ensure that our handoff process between Research & Development and Seed Production Supply Chain is being followed properly, particularly for regions outside of North America
