Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant – Financial Data Governance (GL SME) within the Corporate Accounting Finance Master Data Governance Team located in Wilmington, DE. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Governance Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the design, build, and ongoing implementation of Chart of Accounts in SAP Central Finance “CFIN” system. This role will also support process improvement, key liaison for the One ERP project team, operating corporate month-end close processes, maintaining master data, and assisting with internal controls and audits. This role works closely with IT teams, Project teams, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Finance FP&A as well as functional, corporate, and business leaders in various locations.

Primary Responsibilities – How will you help us Grow

  • Ensure an effective and efficient closing is operated monthly.
  • Strategically assist team members and business partners with researching postings between heritage systems and CFIN.
  • Maintain master data for General Ledgers accounts, Cost Elements and Cost Element Categories.
  • Maintain Financial Statement Versions.
  • Actively engage with business partners in projects, closings, analysis, and technical support.
  • Review, research, and help process AIF errors that stem from issues of documents posting in CFIN from heritage SAP and non-SAP systems.

Other Responsibilities

  • Act as a resource to business, function, and corporate initiatives as a general ledger account expert.
  • Ability to understand CFIN logic to research how GL postings happened and provide guidance to end users.
  • Collaborate with IT Resources and Corporate Accounting in providing guidance, assistance, and expertise on various matters such as streamlining account settings, the best way to implement changes to the chart of accounts, updates to mapping from heritage systems, and discrepancies in reporting related to accounts.
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Lead collaboration with peers on Master Data Governance related work.
  • Work on special projects as needed.

Qualifications

What expertise have you grown – What You’ll Bring to the Table

  • BS Accounting, Finance and/or related major.
  • Advanced Excel skillset.
  • Approximately 5+ years in accounting, finance and/or information technology.
  • Must be self-directed, organized, and accountable.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Works well in teams with an ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced in Microsoft applications, SAP, Analysis for Office, SharePoint.
  • Ability to research requirements, solutions, evaluate alternative approaches, and present recommended solution in SAP-Finance.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure project environment with speed & agility.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness and ability to work independently, and drive results with peers, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Ability to work on demand hours, holidays, weekends, as required to meet closing and/or project-oriented processes.
