Are you passionate about the intersection of agriculture, policy, and government affairs? Join Corteva Agriscience as a Government and Industry Affairs Intern in Washington, D.C. This 10-week internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic world of government and industry relations within the agriculture sector. You’ll collaborate with key stakeholders, including Capitol Hill, Executive Branch Agencies, agriculture industry trade associations, and grower organizations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Policy Research: Conduct in-depth research on legislative and regulatory developments related to agriculture, seeds, and crop protection. Summarize findings for team members and assist in developing policy recommendations.

  • Advocacy Support: Assist in developing and executing advocacy strategies by tracking relevant legislation, attending hearings, and participating in meetings with government officials and industry partners.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with the government and industry affairs team to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including Capitol Hill staff, agency personnel, trade associations, and grower organizations.

  • Issue Monitoring: Monitor emerging issues and trends within the agriculture sector. Prepare briefings and updates for internal stakeholders.

  • Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of events, meetings, and briefings, including logistics and materials preparation.

  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to policy and advocacy efforts, helping to identify areas for improvement and refinement.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in political science, agriculture policy, public affairs, or a related field. Candidates must be enrolled in classes the semester following their internship with Corteva.

  • Must be able to relocate to Washington, D.C. for the duration of the internship.

  • Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) for 10-12 weeks during the timeframe of internship (typically May to August).

  • Strong research and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Interest in agricultural policy and government affairs.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of the legislative process and government structures is a plus.
