We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Product Agronomist supporting the Pioneer Brand in Southeast Iowa. This role would be roughly covering south of Hwy 20 and east of I-35. How you will help us grow:

Manage product portfolio and build seller confidence –

• Act as the liaison between field sales, seed production, and crop genetics research.
• Partner with field sales personnel to create and deliver product information and training which improves the product knowledge of our teams and the productivity and profitability of our customers.
• Build relationships to provide product and agronomy leadership and mentorship for a team of agronomists.
• Develop a working knowledge of customer product needs based on production practices to support field sales team product positioning and selling efforts.
• Selling the sellers: Serve as the lead product resource for the area, particularly as it pertains to new product introductions.

In-Field Agronomy-

• Coordinate product evaluation trials for corn and soybeans across the assigned geography and collect information/notes and observations related to the performance of Pioneer® brand seed products and associated technologies.
• Provide overall performance evaluations on Corteva products.
• Develop understanding of regional environmental differences that impact product performance in order represent the geography in product advancement discussions and decisions.

Business and Planning-

• Partner with the Product Lifecycle Manager to plan and conduct product evaluation trials to support product advancement, life cycle management, and product positioning.
• Lead assessment of product strengths and needs for assigned area (GAP Analysis).
• Facilitate product planning processes across multiple teams and secure leadership approval.
• Product forecasting for research and production testing and parent seed volumes.

Qualifications

What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree in Agronomy or equivalent is preferred
• Five to seven years agronomy experience
• Field sales proficiency demonstrated
• Experience in crop production/cultural practices
• Willingness to live within and travel the assigned geography listed above
• Visa sponsorship and International relocation is not available for this position.
