Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Scientist to work in Brazil. We are looking for an ambitious, self-driven and talented individual to lead Six Sigma project implementation in our R&D operations. This role is accountable for improving organizational effectiveness and is recognized as a digital & analytical skill expert with experience in driving business impact initiatives across multiple areas. The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Scientist will ensure alignment of initiatives to the vertical/functional strategic priorities and are expected to drive change, solve business process challenges, and generate business impact by leading high impact lean Six Sigma projects. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in project management, and implementation of change and process improvement to support our R&D Operations in Brazil.

In this role, you will be responsible/accountable for:
Leads a portfolio of Lean Six Sigma DMAIC projects and/or programs to deliver business results including but not limited to cost reduction, cash flow improvement, defect reduction, end-to-end process transformation and execution of business strategies. Creates and leads the transformation glidepaths to support projects.
Guidance through a structured process that deals with resources, decision-making, resistance identification and resolution, conflict management, skills enhancement, organizational development, metrics and performance results, coaching, mentoring and behavioral change.
Assist finding and defining strategic themes/projects to generate results and will help the organization with methodology/tools to properly conduct these projects and bringing them conclusion.
Assist with process mapping and value stream mapping needs.
Engaging champions, process owners, team members and stakeholders to deliver performance improvement using Lean Six Sigma tools, methods and concepts, while providing leadership and advice on these technical areas.
Coaches and mentors’ others through curriculum development, Champion engagements, charter development, best practice diffusion, benchmarking, financial reporting and other duties to enable project success.
Performs studies, analysis (trend, variance, impact), risk assessments to determine impacts, and constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives and develop appropriate countermeasures as needed.
Provides analytical and conceptual direction to project team members throughout the life of the project, ensuring alignment and value delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Agronomic Engineering or Related Engineering discipline. Master’s Degree will be a plus.

5+ years of experience in Process Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt with a strong track record of leading successful improvement projects.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills with a demonstrated ability to collect meaningful data and make data driven decisions.
Proficient in statistical analysis and process improvement tools such as Minitab, DMAIC, DOE, FlexSim, and SPC.
Outstanding communication, presentation skills and interpersonal skills to convey key insights from complex analysis and ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical teams.
Occasional travel required to support the business (up to 20%).
Proficient in English. Spanish will be a bonus.
Driver license, category B.
