Corteva Agriscience is looking for a passionate Nutritional Safety Scientist to join the Residue & Nutrition team within Regulatory Sciences R&D. The Nutritional Safety Scientist will lead and coordinate studies on the nutritional safety and characterization of processed fractions of maize grain and oilseed, including diet formulation and dietary exposure assessments. This role provides crucial expertise to global regulatory teams, guiding the development and implementation of regulatory strategies and studies to support the global registration of our Seed and Crop Protection products.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as a technical expert on dietary exposure assessments and nutritional safety for global regulatory teams, contributing to risk assessment and registration strategies.
- Prepare and review dossiers for global product submissions, responding to regulatory agencies’ questions and engaging with industry associations as needed.
- Design multi-year testing programs and studies to align with evolving global regulatory requirements.
- Design, oversee, and manage laboratory and livestock studies for the safety and nutritional equivalency of transgenic crops, along with crop protection residue assessments. Collaborate with project teams to align with submission timelines, coordinating closely with testing facilities, supporting labs, QA, and scientific writers to ensure timely and successful study completion.
- Oversee the formulation, manufacture, and characterize of diets for whole food and feed studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and efficient study timelines.
- Analyze study results to prepare detailed scientific reports, dietary exposure assessments and publications that contribute to regulatory dossiers and support the global safety profile of our products.
- Critically review internal and external technical reports, contributing to scientific literature and representing the company’s technical expertise within the field.
Qualifications
What Skills You Need:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, or a related discipline with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a relevant role.
- Proven experience in the design, conduct, reporting, and interpretation of whole food and feed studies, ideally including human and livestock dietary exposure and risk assessments.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards and their application in laboratory and study settings to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams and manage external partnerships.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple, complex projects.
- Exceptional written and oral communication abilities, including clear articulation of complex data to diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills to influence and liaise across functions and external teams.
- Advanced data interpretation abilities with a focus on deriving actionable insights and recommendations from complex datasets.
- Experience engaging with regulatory authorities and industry associations is a plus, with familiarity in navigating global regulatory frameworks.
