Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate based in Champaign (Ivesdale), IL.

As a Research Associate (RA), you will be a key contributor for a variety of activities at the Champaign Research Center, a multi-crop/multi-function facility. You will play a key role in supporting all projects at the research center through activities including experiment planning, data collection and analysis, nursery activities, sample collection, and field operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with staff to summarize results of experiments, note problem areas during data collection, and recommend actions.
- Lead in site safety culture and ensure adherence to safety standards. Always uphold Corteva Agriscience Core Values.
- Effectively communicate with growers, coworkers, key customers and management.
- Ability to operate agricultural research equipment. This includes tractors, planters, sprayers, forklifts, and research combines.
- During critical times, like planting, flowering and harvest; weekend work and overtime will be required for the success of the research program.
- May manage and direct the work of temporary and seasonal employees.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.
- Provide support for other research projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or scientific field with 0-4 years. Experience in agronomy, Biology, Plant Breeding or a scientific-related field. Will consider Associates Degree in agriculture and 3-5 years’ experience.
What Skills You Need:
- Technologically Savvy: Competency with standard Microsoft Office programs and capacity to learn new technologies and software. Handling of large volumes of data will be required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
- Results Driven: Self-motivated with ability to initiate and see projects through completion. Detail-oriented, strong time management and organizational skills.
- Safety Oriented: Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices
- Team player: Ability to work well with diverse groups of people and also ability to work independently to achieve team goals.
- Physical Requirements: Will be required to do physical lifting and work outdoors and in varying ergonomic environments. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
- Utilize expertise to develop a leadership role within activities.
- Additional hours and weekends during seasonal peak periods
- Ability and interest to obtain Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA if needed.
- Driver’s License, acceptable driving record, and ability to drive truck/trailer combination (Corteva-CMV)
